Tuesday morning, July 9th at Roxanne's place...oh, groan, yawn!

After an evening spent introducing Promise to Roxanne's dogs/home/THE RULES...Promise had a lovely dinner and about 6 hours of sleep from 10 - 4 pm.  Wayne, Roxanne's husband is the undisputed  'master of the early morning risers' and feeds the dogs at 4 am.  Roxanne, Wayne's wife, is NOT an early riser and prefers to ignore all such foolishness in the morning and wait for a perfectly prepared cup of cappuccino to magically appear around 6 am.  That way she can sleep and sleep and sleep in those perfectly wonderful early morning hours.

NOT SO WITH A NEW PUPPY IN THE HOUSE!@@#!

Yawn...Roxanne stumbles out of bed, bounces off the wall (not really, but so it seems) as the new puppy is her responsibility and not Wayne's.  So Promise learns to eat in a kennel next to the 'other dogs', then went outside for a poop/pee break and learned another new "RULE OF THE LEE HOUSEHOLD".  That "RULE" is once all dogs are done with breakfast & bathroom, you wait your turn for exercise, and then go back to sleep.

Crackers, the ole'black grandma of nearly 11 years, and her daughter, Red, who is nearly 9 years old, each get their much awaited daily mile walk with Wayne after breakfast.  Sugar, Red's son and Crackers grandson, gets his beloved 'ball throwing' game with Wayne once the other older dogs have completed their walks.  All 3 dogs know the order of this routine, Crackers, then Red, then Sugar and wait for their turn.

With a new puppy in the house, who obviously isn't a part of this routine, Promise got some time outside and then was kenneled back upstairs in the bedroom as Roxanne went back to sleep.  Surprisingly, with just a few whines and sniffles from Promise, with a full belly and empty bladder, she curled up and went to sleep until 6:45 am.  Thank God, because Roxanne was out like a light.

After 3 cups of coffee to wake up, Roxanne was ready for Sugar to have his morning, still healing from surgery exercise jaunt,  in the field next to the house.  It's a lovely field with lots of grass, hills and even a playground.  Best of all, it's easy access.

Sugar has his time to sniff & explore.

Next, time for Promise to get some exercise.

Promise exploring..dragging Longe Line of course

She hears something and is instantly on alert
Here, Promise is on TOTAL ALERT as people were walking on the sidewalk

Again, she sees the people and is on FULL ALERT!

"How did I do for my first time exercising with you?"

Back in the Lee backyard, tis time for the Jolly Ball lesson - provided by Sugar of course!

JOLLY BALL RULE # 1: Get the ball!

Promise watching and wondering..

Well, blast it, Promise is if she can play?

If you won't give it to me, I attempt to take it!

I take the ball from Sugar and let Promise try it.
JOLLY BALL RULE # 2: Figure out how to pick up the ball

Sugar shares the ball so Promise can learn

how to pick the ball up.

Yup, just stick your face in the ball and put your mouth on it!

JOLLY BALL RULE # 3: Keep possession of the ball and carry it!

Ok, Promise is wondering if she can get the ball?

Maybe if she stalks the ball?

Maybe if she stares at the ball?

Maybe a bow to the Ball Master?

Or jumps on the ball?

Or attempts to take it from Sugar? (No way, girl!)

Sugar finally drops the ball for Promise and leaves it for her.

Course, now that Promise got it, Sugar is in full pursuit.
